Plastering Continued.

To make the plaster we used a combination of hydrated lime, mortar sand, beach sand, and brick dust.  The combination of these 4 elements in the right proportions makes a frosting like plaster that forms the base coat on our walls.

After the plaster is applied to the walls we scratch the surface to allow the coat that follows, to key into the scratch coat.

Each coat takes about two weeks to fully dry and cure, so in between plastering sessions we have time to work on finishing the ceiling and other details like insulation in the pony wall.

After about a half-day of plastering, the four of us had the inside complete.
There is still a lot of work to be dome but we are truly getting closer to finishing this project almost a year later.
